Italian Culinary Tour with Accommodations, Cooking Classes, All Meals, and Wine from Epitourean

Culinary Tour of the Italian Countryside

The central Italian region of Ciociaria (pronounced cho-cha-REE-a) is known for simple rustic dishes, fresh cheeses, and extra virgin olive oil prepared using traditional methods. You can taste all the authentic flavors of the area on this 7-day culinary tour from Epitourean.

The tour includes:

  • Round-trip ground transfers from Rome Fiumicino Airport
  • All meals and wine
  • 4 hands-on cooking classes
  • Daily culinary tours and excursions
  • 6 nights in a deluxe room at Casa Gregorio
  • Note: airfare is not included.

We've listed some trip highlights below. Click here for a full itinerary.

Stay in a Historic Hotel

Parts of Casa Gregorio date back to the 18th century, when it was a home for nobles. A full restoration in 2010 added modern comforts to rooms, but you can still see historic features such as coffered wooden ceilings and the original tile flooring. Downstairs, there's a 16th-century olive oil mill.

Hands-On Cooking Classes

You'll meet with local chefs for cooking classes that cover each course of a traditional Italian dinner, from antipasti to dessert. Using fresh ingredients, participants prepare classic dishes such as fettuccine with truffles, stuffed zucchini, and pizza.

Culinary Tours

Ciociaria is known for its fresh provolone, ricotta, and buffalo mozzarella; you can taste all three on a tour of a local dairy farm. The trip also includes tours of an olive oil mill, a vineyard and wine cellar, and a prosciuttificio, where you can sample hand-cut prosciutto and pork sausage.

Local Cuisine and Wine

Each day, the group sits down to meals showcasing regional specialties such as seafood from the Tyrrhenian Sea and cured meats. One lunch highlights the aromatic flavors of extra virgin olive oil. Lunches and dinners usually include wine pairings.
