The 5 Browns
The 5 Browns performing Mozart's Ronda Alla Turca
The 5 Browns share more than just a gene pool and knowledge of their family's secret handshake. The quintet of pianists became the first group of five siblings to simultaneously attend the prestigious Juilliard School, and now travel the world tickling the ivories together 440 keys at a time. Garnering national attention in 2002 with an appearance on Oprah, the Browns have become a classical-music sensation, adding their own thunder to some of the most remarkable compositions in history and building a repertoire that ranges from Rachmaninoff to Star Wars. On the centennial anniversary of Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring, they debut at Carnegie Hall to perform of a new, five-piano interpretation of the savage piece. Also on the program are works from Chopin, Saint-Saëns, Stravinsky, and Holst, among others.
