Staged at night in cities across the country, the run sports vibrant lighting displays throughout its route and encourages participants to sprint while sporting fun neon items such as glow sticks, glow glasses, and boas made out of glow worms. At the run's deceptively named finish line, a post-race party with live DJs begins. Red Frog Events, the organizers of the Illuminite 5K Night Run and After Party, encourage participants to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by offering special gifts.
